The live concert experience with Karen Schuessler Singers is unlike any other. It ignites our senses, inspires our dreams, and nurtures our soul. The live performance, that sense of being ‘in concert’ with others is transforming. It’s the magic we come to see, hear and feel – the alchemy of art performed before our eyes through seamless collaboration.
Much of the magic of performing live comes from a vital element – our audience – as they respond to the energy of choristers and musicians, creating a powerful energy cycle. We leave the live performance feeling so much more alive.
Sharing our voice in the community is what KSS is all about. Our themed choral concerts bring fresh perspectives to enrich lives and bring a deeper appreciation of the arts. A Tribute to Carousel and Classic Broadway
Saturday, June 1, 2013 8 pm
Richard Rodgers once wrote that Carousel was his favourite musical. In 1999, Time Magazine named it the Best Musical of the Century. Rodgers' music for the show together with Oscar Hammerstein's lyrics continued a revolution in musical theatre which had begun with Oklahoma and continued with South Pacific, The King and I and The Sound of Music. This concert, featuring selections from Carousel and other classic shows from Broadway, pays tribute to the Golden Age of the Musical. Featuring four talented London performers and songs like "You'll Never Walk Alone", "If I Loved You" and "June is Bustin' Out All Over" - a great evening of timeless music!
